Westone Custom Series AC20 Musician Monitor Earphones

I've been using AC20s for 5 years now and they are still holding up well. I'm a drummer who occasionally sings. My preferred monitor mix for many years (before IEMs) was essentially a house mix with a little extra kick. I can get the same vibe using the AC20s in a smaller space, where I get a little reinforcement of low end off of my drums themselves. I usually ask for the kick through the drum wedge(s) to get the low sub-bass for a bigger show in a large space or outdoors.

These wouldn't be my first choice for critical listening or bass heavy music, but I hear everyone one stage very clearly and I get enough low end to get the feel of a groove (and that's using a Beta 81A in my kick which focuses more on attack than sub-bass).

If you want a quality set of earphones for live performances (even if you a re a drummer or bass player), this should be adequate if you keep your expectations realistic.

Poor sound quality. I was expecting better. The fit is good.
