3M 8576 Particulate Respirator Details
The 3M 8576 P95 provides at least 95% filtration efficiency against both oil and non-oil based particulate. Suggested applications include aluminum smelting, paper processing, brewing operations, chemical processing, glass etching, and other applications where nuisance levels of acid gas (including chlorine, sulfur dioxide, and/or hydrogen fluoride) are present.
3M's advanced electrostatic media allows free and easy breathing, while the Cool Flow™ valve keeps the interior cooler and more comfortable. The cup-shaped design is both spacious and durable, holding up against heat and humidity longer. When workers need a respirator for use in hot/humid conditions, particularly for extended wear, the 8576 is a great choice.
3M 8576 respirators are comfortable, with braided headbands to prevent pinching and hair-pulling, and an adjustable M-noseclips for improving the fit and faceseal, preventing glasses from fogging, and keeping the mask in place. This comfort helps increase wearability.
The 3M 8576 is recommended for glass etching, aluminum smelting, paper processing, chemical processing, assembly and mechanical, transportation, mining, cleaning, oil and gas, and general manufacturing. Also suitable for grinding, sanding, and other dusty applications. Note: for use with both oil and non-oil based particulate.

About Efficiency
Filter efficiency shows how much filter leakage can be accepted. Higher efficiency means less leakage.
95%, 99%, and 99.97% are the most common filter efficiency ratings.
Used in particulate environments free of oil aerosols. N-series filters cannot be used if oil particles are present.
Used for oil and non-oil particles with time use limitations specified by NIOSH. If oil particles (e.g., lubricants, cutting fluids, glycerine) are present, use an R- or P-series filter.
Used for oil and non-oil particples with time use limitations specified by manufacturer. If oil particles are present and the filter is to be used for more than one work shift, use only a P-series filter.
