3M 8293 Particulate Respirator Details
The 3M 8293 P95 provides at least 95% filtration efficiency against both oil and non-oil based particulate. Suggested applications include pharmaceutical manufacturing, lead abatement, and certain OSHA substanced-specific contaminants including lead, MDA, arsenic, and cadmium (excluding asbestos).
3M 8293 respirators are easy to wear. They stay cooler for longer, with a Cool Flow™ valve to vent heat away, and 3M's advanced electrostatic microfiber filter media to allow for easier breathing. They also offer some great benefits in terms of comfort. Each mask has a soft foam face seal, ensuring the respirator feels good and seals correctly. The adjustable M-noseclip lets workers adjust their masks for a customized fit, while helping prevent protective eyewear from fogging up. And the straps on the 8293 are fully adjustable, so the respirators stay in place and the wearers stay comfortable, which can contribute to increased wearability.
The 3M 8293 is recommended for pharmaceutical manufacturing, lead abatement, assembly and mechanical, transportation, oil and gas, mining, and general manufacturing. Also suitable for grinding, sanding, and other dusty applications. Note: for use with both oil and non-oil based particulate.

About Efficiency
Filter efficiency shows how much filter leakage can be accepted. Higher efficiency means less leakage.
95%, 99%, and 99.97% are the most common filter efficiency ratings.
Used in particulate environments free of oil aerosols. N-series filters cannot be used if oil particles are present.
Used for oil and non-oil particles with time use limitations specified by NIOSH. If oil particles (e.g., lubricants, cutting fluids, glycerine) are present, use an R- or P-series filter.
Used for oil and non-oil particples with time use limitations specified by manufacturer. If oil particles are present and the filter is to be used for more than one work shift, use only a P-series filter.
