3M 8247 Particulate Respirator Details
The 3M 8247 provides the same great features as the 3M 8240, plus protection from nuisance levels of organic vapors. If organic vapors are not present, the 8240 is the more economical choice.
The 3M 8247 is NIOSH-approved to provide 95% filtration efficiency against both solid and liquid non-oil based particulate. These classic disposable respirators require no maintenance, and are an excellent choice for environments in which oil-based solid or liquid aerosols and nuisance levels of organic vapors are all present. With their collapse-resistant shell, 3M 8247 respirators stand up to hot, humid conditions with increased durability.
The 3M 8247 features 3M's advanced electrostatically charged microfiber filter media, which helps the wearer breathe more easily and stay cooler while working. This design even makes it easier for workers to communicate. The headband is braided to reduce hair-pulling, and the adjustable noseclip helps improve the faceseal and prevent eyewear fogging. Cool and comfortable, and lightweight for easy extended wear, The 3M 8247 contributes to better worker comfort and increased wear time, helping to lower costs.
The 3M 8247 is recommended for undercoating, petrochemical manufacturing, agriculture, lab settings, and foundry operations. Additional applications include sweeping, sanding, bagging, and grinding, along with other dusty/oily operations. Note: for use with both non-oil and oil based particulate.
