InEarz Zen 2: Dual Driver Earphones with ADEL™ Technology for Stunning Clarity
The InEarz Zen 2 is a dual-synced premium balanced armature earphone that brings InEarz's ADEL™ technology to a universal-fit in-ear headphone for the first time. With a 3D-printed shell made of hypoallergenic material for a smooth fit, and two types of ear tips in three sizes each, the Zen 2 is smooth, comfortable, ergonomically-shaped, and easy to wear for hours.
With the Zen 2, you can take advantage of the same in-ear musicians' monitor technology it took three industry leaders collaborating on the electronics and the design in order to deliver. As advanced specialists in high-end custom-molded in-ear monitors, InEarz is serious about delivering audiophile-quality sound in innovative ways that cut down the competition in their tracks.
Universal Fit: Comfortable, No-Wait, No-Hassle Fit
Previously, InEarz's ADEL™ Technology was only available in custom-fitted models that had to be crafted to flawlessly fit each individual's unique ears. But while the full custom fit is certainly unparalleled, many audiophiles find the cost to be prohibitive. The process also requires having custom ear impressions made and shipped to the lab, which increases the complexity and time involved in the process.
The Zen 2 Universal Fit In-Ear Musician's Monitor pushes past the barriers by making the vaunted cutting-edge ADEL™ sound modules available in an off-the-shelf universal model. These in-ear earphones have been carefully and scientifically crafted to give you the finest experience a universal fit can provide: they are 3D printed for precise control, their material is hypoallergenic acrylic and very smooth to the touch, and their shape mimics the organic shape of the outer ear canal.
Add in the included foam and silicone ear tips, each of which comes in three sizes (small/medium/large), and which can block out up to 26dB of external noise for blissful sound isolation, and the Zen 2 lets you get a comfortable and effective customizable fit, right out of the box.
It is perhaps no surprise that an earphone named "Zen 2" is all about reducing the cost and hassle, while still delivering the sublime.
ADEL™ Technology: Less Volume, More Sound
It may be obvious that in-ear earphones must create a good seal inside your ear canal to keep sound in; if a complete acoustic seal is not present, sound leaks out, and your listening experience suffers. But a properly sealed-off ear canal can also make its own problems. Greater volumes create amplified pneumatic pressures that can put thousands of times more stress on your eardrum than normal listening. Making matters worse, your ear responds to all the intense vibrations by trying to protect itself: all the muscles around your ear drum tighten, and the sound is dampened. Which means you turn your volume up. Which means your eardrums deal with more acoustic pressure. Which means you turn your volume up.
It's a vicious cycle.
ADEL™ Technology from InEarz breaks the chain. The ADEL™ module inside each earphone acts as a secondary eardrum, helping to take some of the stress off of your actual eardrum - while simultaneously controlling pneumatic pressure to deliver crisp, high-fidelity sound.
ADEL™ captures all that clarity at a much lower volume than other earphones. Because ADEL™ mitigates your eardrum's need to dampen incoming vibrations, you can listen at a much lower volume while feeling like the volume has stayed the same. This is thanks to ADEL's ability to provide Enhanced Loudness Perception: the Zen 2 sounds better at a lower volume than other earphones do at their normal volume.
And less stress on your eardrums means you can enjoy the very finest auditory experiences for many more years to come.
InEarz Zen 2 Sound Profile
The Zen 2 pushes the envelope for what a dual driver earphone can do. The elitists can keep their quads - this is about purity of sound, not pretentious specs. The Zen 2 has been described as having neutral, full sound with a tight low end and just enough sparkle on the treble to keep it bright and energetic, but never fatiguing. The bass isn't huge, but it's not recessed, either, for full and satisfying lows and mids that should please all but the most bass-hungry music-lovers. Metal and progressive rock fans should be more than content with the Zen 2. Clarity is the primary strength of the Zen 2, with a flat response and high fidelity across its extended frequencies. Reviewers describe the Zen 2 as a smile-maker that's effortless to wear, with sound quality they just keep coming back to.
The Zen 2 features a single bore design which creates a linear path for sound to follow, cutting resonances and distortion for more natural sound.
A Note on ADEL™ Modules: The InEarz Zen 2 features the S1 Auto Module, which is the standard model InEarz uses on their high-end musicians' monitors by default. The dual membrane design absorbs pneumatic pressures for stunningly clear audio that makes lower volumes feel - and sound - so powerful.
