NPSF™ -- Are you trying to figure out which size of ear plugs you need?

What to Try... ...And Why:
Disposable Foam Ear Plugs

Disposable foam ear plugs are designed to fit everyone. You carefully mash them while rolling into a tight cylinder, then push that skinny cylinder down into your ear and hold it in place as it expands.

The truth is, though, that not all foam ear plugs are created equal, and some are too small or large to fit some people, and the shapes vary widely as well, so your best bet is to try several different foam ear plugs to find which size and shape are best for your individual ears. We have learned over the years that ears are as unique as fingerprints, so we developed several ear plug trial packs that let you try out a bunch to find your favorites. These trial packs include "Just the Largest", "Just the Smallest", "Just the highest NRR", and my favorite, "Try 'em All!"

Unless you already have experience with foam ear plugs, you may not realize how important technique can be in getting the full rated performance out of your foam ear plugs. Here is a video we recommend: How to properly fit a foam ear plug.

Our unique Got Ears? Ear Plug Sizing Kit™ will also help you determine the relative size of your unique ear canals.

Moldable Silicone or Wax Ear Plugs Moldable silicone or wax ear plugs eliminate the problem of ear plug size completely. These are little blobs of silicone putty or wax mixed with cotton fibers which you simply knead a little, then press into your outer ear filling the bowl and covering the ear canal. Because they are malleable, you get a perfect, custom fit each and every time you use them. If you have a hard time finding another kind of ear plug that will stay in your ears and fit you comfortably, give moldable ear plugs a try. They can be a great solution, especially for swimming and for sleeping.
Reusable Pre-Molded Ear Plugs

Reusable pre-molded ear plugs can be challenging to find a size and shape that fits you well, and because they are more expensive than disposable ear plugs, it can cost more in experimentation to find a reusable pre-molded ear plug you like. That is precisely why we have developed our proprietary Got Ears? Ear Plug Sizing Kit™. For very little cost you can buy the Got Ears? Ear Plug Sizing Kit™ and take the guesswork out of measuring your ears.

We also offer a trial pack of the industrial reusable ear plugs that can help you find one you like, and then you will have a much better idea as to which style and size you are most likely to need when you are considering the variety of consumer ear plugs, which can be far more expensive than are the industrial ear plugs.

Below is advice for customers provided by Persona Medical, makers of Earasers, a high quality reusable ear plug made for dentists, music lovers, sleepers, and industrial workers:
